Sex and HIV/AIDS education must be:

• Medically accurate
• Age-appropriate
• Free of biases based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender

Schools may also use abstinence-only materials if they fall within these parameters of the law. 

Parents must receive notice of both sex and HIV/AIDS education and may opt out of both.
